Summary

DESCRIPTION OF TOPIC: (who, what, when, where, why, and how much)

There is a vacancy on the IDB due to Brock Wells's resignation. Otis Gatlin is willing to serve on the IDB.

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission has developed an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, and

WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards.

WHEREAS, Brock Wells resigned from the Industrial Development Board on April 3, 2019.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

                     SECTION 1:                     Appoints Otis Gatlin to the Industrial Development Board retroactivly on April 3, 2019 and ending on October 2, 2024 to fill the vacancy left by Brock Wells's resignation and based on the conditions that he submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.

SECTION 2:                     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
