WHEREAS, the USDA announced that they are accepting applications for its Farmers' Market Promotion Program through June 20, 2014, and
      WHEREAS, the USDA Farmers' Market Promotion Program (FMPP) provides grants for rural projects that finance and facilitate development of small and emerging businesses, and
      WHEREAS, the City of Foley intends to make application to the USDA Farmers' Market Promotion Program for grant assistance to provide essential marketing and promotion for the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermens Market.
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1:       Approves the  USDA Farmers' Market Promotion Program (FMPP) application due June 20, 2014 for grant assistance for up to $100,000.00 to provide essential marketing and promotion for the Farmers and Fishermens Market. There is no match required.  
SECTION 2:      This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
