A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 3 OF RESOLUTION 26-1039 APPROVING THE SOUTH BALDWIN CHAMBER FOUNDATION’S WALK THIS WAY - AN 80’S TRIBUTE PARADE

WHEREAS, on February 2, 2026, the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, adopted a resolution approving the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation’s Walk This Way - An 80’s Tribute Parade, including a parade, after-party, and related street closures; and
WHEREAS, Section 3 of said resolution approved the allowance of alcoholic beverages as a “Bring Your Own Beverage” (BYOB) event; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that permitting BYOB is inconsistent with the regulations governing the City of Foley Entertainment District, which restricts and regulates the possession, sale, and consumption of alcoholic beverages; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend Section 3 of the resolution to eliminate the BYOB provision and require compliance with all Entertainment District rules, ordinances, and applicable state law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOLEY, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Section 3 of the resolution 26-1039 approving the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation’s Walk This Way - An 80’s Tribute Parade is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows:
SECTION 2: Alcoholic beverages, if permitted in connection with the event, shall only be allowed in compliance with the City of Foley Entertainment District regulations, all applicable municipal ordinances, and the rules and requirements of the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. Bring Your Own Beverage (BYOB) is expressly prohibited.”
SECTION 3: All other sections, terms, conditions, and approvals contained in the original resolution not expressly amended herein shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
