Consider approving South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce's requests to hold a three-day Hot Air Balloon Festival at the Foley Sportsplex, May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2020. The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is also requesting the Parks and Recreation Department to assist with grounds preparation.

WHEREAS, the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is requesting to hold the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival on May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2020 at the Foley Sportsplex, and
WHEREAS, the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is requesting assistance from the Parks & Recreation Department in preparation of the grounds by mowing the grass, treating grounds for ants, trim/cut dead limbs from trees, mark off any restricted field areas where driving is not permitted, hosing down the outside of the concession stand, and moving bleachers and trash cans effective immediately, once at the beginning of April and once before the week of the event, and
WHEREAS, the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is requesting assistance from the Foley Fire Department and the Foley Police Department during the event, and
WHEREAS, the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is requesting permission to sell and serve alcohol on the festival grounds during the event.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival to be held at the Foley Sports Complex May 1st through May 3rd, 2020.
SECTION 2: Approves the Parks & Recreation Department to assist the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce in the preparation of the grounds for the 2020 Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival.
