WHEREAS, the extension of South Pecan Street from Lay Lane southward to the north round-a-bout on Pride Drive is estimated to cost $763,000, AND
WHEREAS, this is a planned City constructed road project for FY23, budgeted for the amount of $405,000, AND
WHEREAS, the Street Department is requesting to increase this project by $358,000, for a total of $763,000 under Account #400-3010-5100 CR-1, AND
WHEREAS, out of the road building components, the Street Department plans to go to bid for the asphalt surfacing and masonry work, AND
WHEREAS, the Street Department expects six to nine months for the road to be completed.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the extension of South Pecan Street from Lay Lane southward to the north round-a-bout on Pride Drive.
SECTION 2: Approves increasing the planned project by $358,000, for a total of $763,000 and amends account #400-3010-5100 CR-1 accordingly.
SECTION 3: Approves permission for Street Department to go to bid for the asphalt paving component and masonry work of the road building project.
SECTION 4: Acknowledges that the Street Department is estimating six to nine months for the South Pecan extension to be completed.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
