WHEREAS, the Engineering Department requests permission to apply for the FY23 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant Program, and
WHEREAS, the minimum grant award is $1,000,000 with 20% matching funds required with applications due February 28, 2023, and
WHEREAS, the Capstone Engineering Group is working on this grant application to be submitted by the City of Foley, and
WHEREAS, the intended project would create access and lighting improvements along Hwy 59 and Hwy 98.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Engineering Department’s request to submit an application to the FY23 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant Program and authorizes matching funds if awarded.
SECTION 2: Council authorizes Mayor and other City officials to sign the application and other documents required to proceed grant request.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
