Several homes in the vicinity of Woodbridge subdivision and N. Pine St have experienced flooding and the Engineering Dept. has identified improvements that could reduce potential flooding in these areas. A majority of the work will be completed by Public Works with the exception of minor clearing. This project was supposed to close in FY18, but we had to delay the start date in order to receive the necessary construction easements. We also had a savings of $3,900 in FY18 from the Magnolia Circle Drainage project.

WHEREAS, Several homes have experienced flooding in the vicinity of Woodbridge subdivision and North Pine Street, and
WHEREAS, Engineering has identified potential improvements that could reduce the flooding potential of the area per the survey completed by HMR under Resolution 17-1101 and a project exists in the adopted Capital Projects Planning Document, and
WHEREAS, Engineering and Public Works have discussed this project in the field and the majority of the work will be completed by Public Works, with the exception of minor clearing, and
WHEREAS, Engineering solicited a proposal for minor clearing from Mako Forestry to remove vegetation in the area in the amount of $5,000.00, and
WHEREAS, Engineering has obtained temorary construction easements from the property owners to access the properties.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Appropriates $7,000.00 for the Woodbridge/North Pine Place Drainage Improvements project for Account No. 400-3020-5102-A19 WBNP2, including the $200.00 in the FY19 Capital Plan.
SECTION 2: Approves Mako Forestry's estimate of $5,000.00 for vegetation clearing, to be paid from this capital project Account No. 400-3020-5102-A19 WBNP2 .
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
