WHEREAS, the City of Foley solicited and opened bids for one (1) full size, one ton 4x2 single rear wheel pickup truck for the Sanitation Department on February 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. and the results are as follows:

Whereas, the bid specs called for a one ton pickup and Stivers Ford's bid in the amount of $22,759.00 was for a 3/4 ton pickup (F-250) and Sam Pack's Five Star Ford also bid an F-250 as an alternate in the amount of $24,146.00,
Whereas, Moyer Ford submitted the lowest responsible bid for a one ton pickup in the amount of $24,514.00 and,
Whereas, there is a need to install a 6-yard dump to be mounted on the above referenced truck for the purpose of collecting garbage in congested or tight areas and,
Whereas, quotes were obtained from three vendors and the lowest quote was submitted by Par-Kan Company for a 6-yard Easy Dump model in the amount of $12,115.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the lowest responsible bid in the amount of $24,514.00 submitted by Moyer Ford Sales Inc.for one (1) full size, one ton 4x2 single rear wheel pickup truck for the Sanitation Department, budgeted under Account No. 01-610-7010.
SECTION 2: Accepts the quote submitted by Par-Kan Company for one (1) 6-yard Easy Dump in the amount of $12,115.00 to be mounted on the above mentioned vehicle, as added to the budget under enabling resolution 13-0585 under Account No. 01-610-7010.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
