The existing pipe geometry beneath Azalea and the lack of a pipe beneath Chestnut causes standing water for days which is a street maintenance issue and also a public nuisance with mosquitoes. We plan on adding a secondary storm drainage pipe, 22"x14", beneath Azalea Avenue at Chestnut Street intersection, and aslo add an 18"x11" pipe beneath Chestnut to alleviate the standing water and poor drainage issue on the south side of Azalea. The project is expected to be completed by Public Works Department and is expected to be completed at budget of $12,500.00.

WHEREAS, The existing pipe geometry beneath Azalea and the lack of a pipe beneath Chestnut causes standing water for days which is a street maintenance issue and also a public nuisance with mosquitoes, and
WHEREAS, We plan on adding a secondary storm drainage pipe, 22"x14", beneath Azalea Avenue at Chestnut Street intersection, and will also add an 18"x11" pipe beneath Chestnut to alleviate the standing water and poor drainage issue on the south side of Azalea, and
WHEREAS, Public Works Department will complete the project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Chestnut Street Pipe Improvement Project and appropriates funds in the amount of up to $12,500.00 under Account No. 400-3020-5102 A19-Chestnut - Drainage Improvement.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
