The Foley Fire Department has planned for the order and purchase of a custom pumper in FY28 in order to maintain an adequate fleet replacement schedule. The projected delivery time from the customer order date is currently 24 - 30 months. NAFECO has offered to place a dealer order for a truck that would meet our specifications and reduce time off of the build and delivery process. This would also save 8 - 12 percent in the purchase price due to anticipated increases over the next two years. We are asking approval for the Mayor to sign and issue a letter of intent to purchase with NAFECO in order to start the process.

WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department has planned for the purchase of a custom fire pumper in FY28 and NAFECO has offered to place a dealer order for a truck that would meet our needs and to our specifications with a letter of intent to purchase, and
WHEREAS, this process will save time and money due to current unusually long lead times and projected price increases over the next two years.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Authorizes the Mayor to sign a letter of intent to purchase a 2028 Rosenbauer custom fire pumper from NAFECO using the Sourcewell contract.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
