WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation received a request from Show Baldwin Inc. to host a festival in Foley and Heritage Parks on Saturday, October 12, 2024, and
WHEREAS, The festival is designed to raise money for the organization to provide social opportunities, communication devices, wheelchairs, and other medical supplies for special needs individuals in Baldwin County, and
WHEREAS, Show Baldwin Inc. plan to have food trucks, a petting zoo, bounce houses, carnival games, and live music, and
WHEREAS, Show Baldwin Inc. is requesting to have the park rental fees waived and also close East Violet Avenue from Highway 59 to Chicago Street.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves waiving the fees for Show Baldwin Inc. to host a festival in Foley and Heritage Parks on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
SECTION 2: Approves the closure of Violet Avenue from Highway 59 to Chicago Street on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
