Summary
The FFD is needing to continue the scheduled replacement of certain fire equipment, namely its self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). The Assistance to Firefighters Grant for FY 2017 application period has been released, and the SCBA are considered a funding priority. We are requesting approval to apply for the FY 2017 Assistance to Firefighters Grant for $100,000 with a $5000 match.

WHEREAS, FEMA is accepting applications for the FY 2017 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program, and
WHEREAS, there is a need to replace fire equipment used by the Foley Fire Department, and
WHEREAS, the deadline to apply is February 2, 2018, and
WHEREAS, we will request up to $100,000 with a $5,000 match.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the FY 2017 AFG program application for up to $100,000 with $5,000 in matching funds to be used for fire equipment for FFD.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
