WHEREAS, the Foley Woman's Club which played an integral role in starting the Foley Public Library in 1923 has been a big supporter of the library, and
WHEREAS, in December 2023, the Foley Woman's Club donated $19,200.00 to the library, and
WHEREAS, the library would like to use this donation to purchase something for the new library to honor their organization's dedication.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Memorializes accepting the donation of $19,200.00 from the Foley Woman's Club and amends the revenue account #100-5020-4651 accordingly.
SECTION 2: Approves the donation to be used at a later date. A resolution requesting to amend the expense account to purchase something for the new library will be submitted at the time of use.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
