We had a request for a street light to be installed in the alley between Hwy 98 and W. Jessamine St. Businesses on Hwy 98 park on W. Jessamine leaving the parking places on Hwy 98 open for customers. When the employees leave for the day, sometimes after dark, they use the alley to get to their vehicles. It is very dark towards the middle of the alley and for safety reasons, we agree with adding a street light. Riviera quoted a one-time installation charge of $50 and monthly charge of $6.25 on an existing wood pole.

WHEREAS, The Engineering Department had a request for a street light to be installed in the alley between Hwy. 98 and W. Jessamine St., and
WHEREAS, Riviera Utilities submitted a quote of $50.00 for a one-time installation charge on an existing Riviera pole and $6.25 for monthly service.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the installation of a street light on an existing Riviera Utilities wood pole in the alley between Hwy. 98 and W. Jessamine St.
SECTION 2: Approves a one-time installation charge of $50.00 under Account No. 100-3020-6012 and a monthly fee of $6.25 under Account. No. 100-1012-6123.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
