WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department requests permission to purchase a new SCBA fit test machine and to deem the current fit test machine as surplus as it is no longer needed for a public purpose and requests permission to dispose of it by the best method available, and
WHEREAS, the current machine (asset # 5638) is almost 15 years old and can no longer be calibrated as required by NFPA, and
WHEREAS, this is a planned capital expense and is expected to be at or under budget in an amount of $8,429 with a service plan contract for an additional year beyond the the manufacturer warranty in the amount of $1,030.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the request to declare the current fit test machine (Asset # 5638) as surplus and no longer needed for a public purpose and to dispose of it by the best method available.
SECTION 2: Approves the Capital Purchase of a new SCBA fit test machine in an amount not to exceed $10,000 from OHD under Account No. 200-2021-5100.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
