WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need to retire (1) one present Police Canine after a faithful and long service to the Foley Police Department and to the Citizens of Foley, and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting to purchase (1) one budgeted Dual Purpose Canine from Southern Coast K9 Incorporated in the amount of $9,500.00 to replace K9 Titan, and
WHEREAS, there is no cost associated with intense Police Canine training offered by Escambia County which is a significant savings to the City.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the request to retire Police K9 Titan to his handler, Bryant Nelson, and declare the canine as surplus.
SECTION 2: Approves the budgeted purchase of (1) one Dual Purpose Canine from Southern Coast K9 Incorporated in the amount of $9,500.00 from account 100-2010-5100.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
