WHEREAS, ADECA sets aside funds to be used for overtime traffic enforcement and the Mobile County Commission has agreed to pass a portion of those funds to the Foley Police Department, and
WHERAS, the Commission has overtime grant funds for participation in the B.A.S.E. program in the amount of $3,900 to be used for traffic enforcement and traffic safety, and
WHEREAS, the Mobile County Commission funds 100% of salary plus allowable fringes for overtime enforcement service performed during August 16, 2013 - September 2, 2013.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the Mobile County Commission's B.A.S.E. Grant (ADECA Grant # 13-HS-K8-006, Labor Day Weekend 2013/"Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Campaign) funds in the amount of $3,900 for the period August 16, 2013 through September 2, 2013 to be used for traffic enforcement and traffic safety. The City understands there is no City match required.
SECTION 2: Appoints Deputy Chief Randy Bishop to serve as the Grant Manager, who will be responsible for submitting all required reports, reimbursement requests, and other correspondence to the Grant Coordinator.
SECTION 3: Reimbursement statements, contact reports and supporting documentation will be submitted to the Mobile County Commission, Regional Highway Safety Office on or before the 7th of the month following the month of performance.
SECTION 4: David Wilson, in his capacity as Chief of Police, is hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Foley.
SECTION 5: Approves the expenditure of the grant funds and amends the FY13 budget accordingly. The following accounts shall be used: Police Expense Account 01-608-1026 (BASE/Labor Day Campaigns), Police Receivable Account 01-1267 (MCC/BASE/Labor Day Campaign), and Police Revenue Account 01-4967 (MCC/BASE/Labor Day Campaign).
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
