A Resolution Authorizing the Mayor to Sign a Letter of Intent for the Sanitation Department

 

Summary

The Residential Sanitation Department would like to request that the Mayor sign a Letter of Intent for the Purchase of  two (2) 2024 Kenworth L770 chassis' with New Way Sidewinder ASL bodies from Sansom Equipment for $415,665.00 each. These are budgeted for FY25, but we need to send a letter of intent to them to hold our place in the long list of companies ordering them for next year.

          WHEREAS, the Residential Sanitation Department would like to request that the Mayor sign a Letter of Intent for the Purchase of two (2) 2024 Kenworth L770 chassis' with New Way Sidewinder ASL bodies from Sansom Equipment for $415,665.00 each off Sourcewell contract 110223-NWY, AND

    

     WHEREAS, these are planned purchase for FY25 but due to an unusually long lead time, we need to send a letter of intent to them to hold our place in the long list of companies ordering them for next year.

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1:     Authorizes the Mayor to sign a Letter of Intent for the Purchase of two (2) 2024 Kenworth L770 chassis' with New Way Sidewinder ASL bodies from Sansom Equipment for $415,665.00 each for Residential Sanitation.

 

     SECTION 2:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
