A Resolution Approving a Revised Contract for Service with the John McClure Snook Family YMCA
Summary
The John McClure Snook Family YMCA provides a public benefit to the City through its various programs (After School Care, Summer Day Camps, Water Safety Courses). The City's contract for public purpose with the YMCA needs to be revised for the FY21 contract. The YMCA facility was heavily damaged during Hurricane Sally and they have not been able to reopen the facility since September 2020. Council wishes to alter the public purpose of this contract to allow the budgeted $70,000 payment to be made in March 2021 to allow the YMCA pay for the reconstruction of their building.

WHEREAS, the John McClure Snook Family YMCA provides a public benefit to the City through its various programs, and
WHEREAS, the City's contract for public purpose with the YMCA needs to be revised for the FY21 contract, and
WHEREAS, the YMCA facility was heavily damaged during Hurricane Sally and they have not been able to reopen the facility since September 2020, and
WHEREAS, Council wishes to alter the public purpose of this contract to allow the budgeted $70,000 payment to be made in March 2021 to allow the YMCA pay for the reconstruction of their building.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the attached updated contract for public purpose with the John McClure Snook Family YMCA and authorizes the budgeted $70,000 payment to be made in March 2021.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
