WHEREAS, the present firewall has been in service for eight years and has reached its end-of-life, and
WHEREAS, with internet and application connectivity being so critical to our operations that it justifies the need for redundant firewalls to maximize our network uptime and internet application availability, and
WHEREAS, BlueAlly has worked with the firewall vendor to get special pricing and has provided a quote for the new firewalls, mounting hardware, support, and security applications, for the amount of $22,950.75, which is less than NCPA Contract #01-97 pricing of $25,376.23
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the purchase of the Palo Alto Networks PA-460 firewalls, mounting hardware, support, and security applications from BlueAlly for a total of $22,950.75 under account # 1000-1040-5100.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
