A Resolution to Memorialize the Application for the ALDOT Rebuild Alabama Act Annual Grant Program.

 

Summary

City of Foley Engineering Department requested permission from council to apply for the ALDOT Rebuild Alabama Act Annual Grant Program in order to fund Add Alternative #1 or #2 of the intersection improvements to County Road 12 & Foley Beach Express on RES 19-1323. The Engineering Department has changed the focus of the grant application to Signalization Upgrades at Local Road Intersections. The maximum award is $250,000 with no match requirements, however due to the cost of the project the City will be responsible for funding 20% ($54,569) of the remaining costs in order to complete this project. The application for this grant was due on November 30, 2019 and the completed application has been submitted prior to the deadline. Decisions will be announced no later than January 15, 2020.

     WHEREAS, City of Foley Engineering Department requested permission from council to apply for the ALDOT Rebuild Alabama Act Annual Grant Program in order to fund Add Alternative #1 or #2 of the intersection improvements to County Road 12 & Foley Beach Express on RES 19-1323, and

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1: Approves the request from City of Foley Engineering Department to memorialize the application for the ALDOT Rebuild Alabama Act Annual Grant Program in order to fund Signalization Upgrades at Local Road Intersections.

 

     SECTION 2: Approves the local matching funds of 20% ($54,569) of the remaining costs in order to complete this project , contingent upon grant award.

                                                   

     SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
