Summary
Foley Public Library requests permission to apply for the FY 2021 Institute of Museum and Library Service (IMLS) American Rescue Plan Grant for Museums and Libraries. IMLS is currently accepting applications until June 28, 2021. If awarded, the funds would be used to purchase an additional digital platform service (Hoopla) and purchase additional ebooks for the library. The application will request $17,500 in grant funds, and will match those funds with $7,800 in kind and $9,700 in cash. Anticipated awards will be announced in September or October with projects set to begin in November of 2021.

WHEREAS, Foley Public Library requests permission to apply for the FY 2021 Institute of Museum and Library Service (IMLS) American Rescue Plan Grant for Museums and Libraries, and
WHEREAS, IMLS is currently accepting applications until June 28, 2021, and
WHEREAS, if awarded, the funds would be used to purchase an additional digital platform service (Hoopla) and purchase additional ebooks for the library, and
WHEREAS, the application will request $17,500 in grant funds, and will match those funds with $7,800 in kind and $9,700 in cash, and
WHEREAS, anticipated awards will be announced in September or October with projects set to begin in November of 2021.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Foley Public Library to apply for the FY2021 Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) American Rescue Plan Grant.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
