The two projects consist of upgrades to the area around the Centennial Fountain and extending the Rose Trail to the south of Heritage Park. WHEREAS, the FY20 Capital Plan includes projects for Centennial Fountain Area Upgrades with a budget of $150,000 and a Rose Trail Walking Connector Extension for $150,000, and,
WHEREAS, Engineering is ready to move forward with these projects and it has been determined that it will be most feasible to combine the projects for bidding and construction, and,
WHEREAS, Engineering recommends the removal of a wooden power pole that currently exists in the area of the Rose Trail Extension and desires to replace it with underground utilities in order to enhance the trail design and prevent future issues related to the growth of shrubs and trees around the pole. Riviera Utilities has submitted a proposal in the amount of $32,000 to do this work which is not included in the Capital Project Planning Document, and,
WHEREAS, Resolution Number 19-1367-RES approved the proposal submitted by WAS Design, Inc. in the amount of $27,100.00 for landscape architectural design and construction observation services for the Rose Trail and Walking Trail projects and appropriated $27,100 under Account No. 400-3020-5147 R54 CENT/ROSE.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Appropriates the budget for the remaining balance of the planned projects in the amount of $272,900 under Account No. 400-3020-5147 R54 CENT/ROSE.
SECTION 2: Appropriates an additional $32,000 under Account No. 400-3020-5147 R54 CENT/ROSE in order for Riviera Utilities to remove the wooden power pole and replace with underground utilities.
SECTION 3: Approves going to bid and moving forward with the Centennial Fountain Area Upgrades, and extension of the Rose Trail in an amount not to exceed $272,900.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as require by law.
