The Rotary Club purchased supplies from Five-Oaks Cypress Furniture to give to the Foley High School Ag Teacher Lance Lipscomb. His students were taught how to make three cypress swings. The swings were then returned to the Rotary Club and presented to the City of Foley. After the concrete was fully cured the swings were installed on Friday, June 17, 2016. The first swing was placed between the Foley Dog Park behind Napa Auto Parts; the second swing was placed in the block north of the Heritage Park Pavilion; and the third was placed in the block south of the Public Works building. The value of each swing is $219.00 for a total of $657.

WHEREAS, the Rotary Club purchased supplies; the Ag students constructed the supplies into swings; the Rotary Club gave the swings to the City of Foley who installed the three cypress swings in three different locations along the Rose Trail, and
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club donated three cypress swings to the City of Foley for a total valuation of $657 ($219 each), and
WHEREAS, on Friday, June 17, 2016, the swings were installed as follows: 1) Along the Rose Trail by the Foley Dog Park behind Napa Auto Parks; 2) in the block north of the Heritage Park Pavilion; and 3) on block south of the Public Works building.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the Rotary Club's donation of three cypress swings valued in the amount of $657.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
