A Resolution Accepting the Additional Funding from FY2024 Legislative Event Grant
Summary
On RES 24-1184, the Nature Parks department memorialized the grant application for the FY24 Legislative Event Grant that was submitted on behalf of the City of Foley by Representative Francis Holk and accepted the grant of $2,600.00. Now that the paperwork has been received, the grant is for $5,200.00. The City has already accepted and appropriated $2,600.00 so the additional funds need to be accepted and appropriated. The City of Foley's Haunted Forest event has been awarded an additional $2,600 grant with no matching funds required. These funds will be used for event operations. The Nature Parks Department requests to amend the following accounts: 100-5090-6160 (Event Operations Expense) by $2,600 and 100-5090-4300 (GCNP - Event Grants Revenue) by $2,600.

WHEREAS, May 6, 2024, Council adopted RES 24-1184, the Nature Parks department memorialized the grant application for the FY24 Legislative Event Grant that was submitted on behalf of the City of Foley by Representative Francis Holk and accepted the grant of $2,600.00, and
WHEREAS, the City of Foley's Haunted Forest event has been awarded an additional $2,600 grant with no matching funds required, and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used for event promotions, and
WHEREAS, the Nature Parks Department requests to amend the following accounts: 100-5090-6160 (Event Operations Expense) by $2,600 and 100-5090-4300 (GCNP - Event Grant Revenue) by $2,600.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Council would like to thank Representative Holk for her support of Graham Creek Nature Preserve and their Haunted Forest event.
SECTION 2: Accepts the additional $2,600.00 from the FY2024 Legislative Event Grant.
SECTION 3: Approves to amend the budget as follows: 100-5090-6160 (Event Operations Expense) by $2,600 and 100-5090-4300 (GCNP - Event Grants Revenue) by $2,600.
SECTION 4: Council authorizes the Mayor and other City officials to execute the grant agreement and other documents as required for the acceptance of the grant.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
