A Resolution Approving the Beulah Heights Stormwater Management Plan
Summary
The Environmental Department request the approval and support of the Beulah Heights Stormwater Management Plan which was developed by Thompson Engineering through the Alabama Coastal Area Management Plan Grant by the AL Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Support is being requested to implement the priority stormwater management measures identified in the plan as well as establish the septic system rehabilitation and sewer connection program. No funding is requested at this time as we plan to seek grants to fund the priority measures. We are also seeking donations to fund the pathogen reduction through the septic/sewer program.

WHEREAS, the City of Foley received the Alabama Coastal Area Management Plan Grant from the AL Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in 2023 for the development of the Beulah Heights Stormwater Management Plan to provide a roadmap addressing stormwater flooding and non point source pollutants in the Beulah Heights Community, and
WHEREAS, the plan was completed in September 2023 with prioritization of stormwater management measures and establishment of a septic system rehabilitation and sewer connection program, and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Department is requesting approval and support for implementing the Beulah Heights Stormwater Management Plan.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the support of the Beulah Heights Stormwater Management Plan with implementation of the priority stormwater management measures and establishment of a septic system rehabilitation and sewer connection program.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
