WHEREAS, the Accounts Payable Clerk is retiring November 1, 2014 and the current Accounts Clerk is being trained to promote into that position. Therefore, there is a need to create an additional Accounts Clerk in the department for a specified time period in order to competitively advertise and properly cross train a replacement for the Accounts Clerk, and
WHEREAS, there are surplus funds available to cover the creation of an additional Accounts Clerk for a specified time period and no budget allocation is necessary.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Authorizes the creation of a second Accounts Clerk (Grade 8) in the City's Pay Classification Plan effective with pay period beginning September 9, 2014 and terminating with pay period ending date November 3, 2014.
SECTION2: One Accounts Clerk position will then terminate and be removed from the Pay Classification Plan on November 4, 2014 when the current Accounts Clerk promotes to the Accounts Payable Clerk on this same date (leaving the new employee continuing to serve in the remaining Accounts Clerk position).
SECTION 3: This action becomes effective immediately upon adoption of this resolution as required by law.
