WHEREAS, bids were solicited and received by the City of Foley at 2:00 p.m. on May 7, 2015 for the construction of the Foley Dog Park, and,
WHEREAS, RCI Electric submitted a sole bid in the amount of $3,900 for electrical work, and,
WHEREAS, E-J Builders submitted a sole bid for steel shade structures and canopies and it was determined that only the two 12' x 18' sloped steel canopies located at the park entrance will be constructed at this time for an amount up to $32,063, and,
WHEREAS, no bids were received for installation of pavers or masonry work so negotiations were made to secure this work. A quote was received from Harris Stone Works LLC to provide and install pavers in the amount of $22,874.62. A quote was also received from E. B. Masonry LLC to provide labor only for the masonry work in the amount of $39,500.
WHEREAS, project funds remaining total $124,537 and the total amount for these segments of work will be $98,337.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the sole bid for electrical work submitted by RCI Electric in the amount of $3,900 under Account 12-665-7333 R12, DOG PK/PRK LOT.
SECTION 2: Accepts the sole bid submitted by E-J Builders, Inc. for two sloped steel canopies in an amount up to $32,063 under Account 12-665-7333 R12, DOG PK.
SECTION 3: Accepts quote provided by Harris Stone Works LLC in the amount of $22,874.62 to provide and install pavers under Account 12-665-7333 R12, DOG PK.
SECTION 4: Accepts quote provided by E. B. Masonry LLC to provide labor only for masonry work in the amount of $39,500 under Account 12-665-7333 R12, DOG PK.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
