The Foley Fire Department has recently replaced a firefigting skid unit on its Polaris Ranger UTV (Fixed Asset # 9517) with a new compressed air foam system firefighting unit. Therefore, we are requesting approval to surplus a 100 gallon ultra high pressure firefighting skid (included on fixed asset # 9517) unit that is no longer needed and sell the unit to the Red Hill Volunteer Fire Department in Elmore County, Alabama for $5000. We are requesting that the funds from the sale be deposited into the Fire Ad Valorem Fund account to offset the purchase of the replacement unit.

WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department has replaced a 100 gallon ultra high pressure firefighting skid unit with a new compressed air foam system firefighting unit for use on its Polaris Ranger UTV, and
WHEREAS, the old skid unit is no longer needed by the Foley Fire Department, and
WHEREAS, the Red Hill Volunteer Fire Department in Elmore County, Alabama has expressed a need and desire to purchase the skid unit.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Declares surplus a 100 gallon ultra high pressure firefighting skid unit (Pro Poly Ser. #19686) (Fixed Asset #9517).
SECTION 2: Approves the sale of same to the Red Hill Volunteer Fire Department for the amount of $5000 to be deposited in the Fire Advalorem Fund account to offset the purchase of the new unit.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
