Summary

The Foley Police Department requested Council’s permission to memorialize the application submitted to the Homeland Security Local Competitive Grant for Soft Target/Crowded Places Protection on RES 21-1311. The Foley Police Department has been awarded $50,000 for the purchase of ADA Strongwall Barricades. The Police Department requests permission to accept the grant, amend the budget in the amount of $50,000 in the revenue and expense accounts, and go to bid for this item. Depending on the number of barricades that can be purchased for $50,000, the Police Department may come back and ask for additional funds to purchase enough barricades to properly protect the areas of Heritage Park that are adjacent to Hwy 59 and 98.
