A Resolution Authorizing an Unplanned Capital Project for the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fisherman's Market Signage
Summary
The Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fisherman's Market signage was removed from County Road 20 when the land in front of the market was sold and a temporary sign is currently in place. There is a need to replace the temporary sign with a modern sign that includes an LED screen in order to advertise the market, businesses and activities in this area. This project was not included in the FY24 Capital Project Plan. CAFFM requests permission to issue a Request for Proposal to receive pricing and options for a new sign and award this project up to $100,000.00.

WHEREAS, the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fisherman's Market signage was removed from County Road 20 when the land in front of the market was sold and a temporary sign is currently in place, and,
WHEREAS, there is a need to replace the temporary sign with a modern sign that includes an LED screen in order to advertise the market, businesses and activities in this area, and,
WHEREAS, this project was not included in the FY24 Capital Project Plan, and
WHEREAS, CAFFM requests permission to issue a Request for Proposal to receive pricing and options for a new sign and award this project up to $100,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves starting this project and advertising to solicit responses to an RFP for the design and construction of new signage.
SECTION 2: Appropriates funds in the amount of $100,000.00 to account 400-5001-5100 Farmers Market Sign.
SECTION 3: Approves awarding this project in an amount not to exceed that which is appropriated.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
