Request a resolution to apply for Alabama Coastal Area Management Program Grant for Coastal Public Access to construct an ADA trail and boardwalk at Graham Creek Nature Preserve.  The project would include design, trail construction and cover, boardwalk, and interpretive signage at a cost of up to $100,000.  The grant would provide $50,000 with a 1:1 match requirement.  This does conform to the proposed master plan design of Graham Creek Preserve.

WHEREAS, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has opened the annual request for proposals to the Alabama Coastal Area Management Program Grant for Coastal Public Access, and
WHEREAS, the Graham Creek Nature Preserve is within the coastal area, and
WHEREAS, the Graham Creek Nature Preserve Master Plan includes the addition of an ADA trail from the interpretive center through the pine savanna, which includes design, trail construction and covering, boardwalk, and interpretive signage at a cost up to $100,000, and
WHEREAS, the project would fund up to $50,000 with a 1:1 match requirement, and
WHEREAS, the deadline to apply for the grant is March 6, 2015, with the funds available October 1, 2015.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1:       Approves the application for the Alabama Coastal Area Management Program Grant for Coastal Public Access to design and construct an ADA trail at Graham Creek Nature Preserve in an amount up to $100,000.
SECTION 2:      This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
