A Resolution to Accept the ADECA FY20 Alabama State Energy Program Grant

 

Summary

The City of Foley Municipal Complex sought permission from Council and was approved to submit an application for FY20 Alabama State Energy Program through ADECA on RES 20-1214. ADECA has awarded the City of Foley $40,000 to be used to implement energy efficient lighting upgrades to the state inside the Foley Civic Center. There is a 20% match required with this grant, but based on quotes received the project is estimated to cost $60,000. Municipal Complex requests to amend the budgets accordingly: 400-1020-4100 (ADECA -Energy Grant Revenue) by $40,000 and 400-1020-5101 (Municipal Stage Lighting Expenses) by $60,000. Request to go to bid and purchase lighting upgrades with the aforementioned grant funding.

     WHEREAS, The City of Foley Municipal Complex sought permission from Council and was approved to submit an application for FY20 Alabama State Energy Program through ADECA on RES 20-1214, and

 

     WHEREAS, ADECA has awarded the City of Foley $40,000 to be used to implement energy efficient lighting upgrades to the state inside the Foley Civic Center, and

 

     WHEREAS, there is a 20% match required with this grant, but based on quotes received the project is estimated to cost $60,000, and

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1: Council accept the $40,000 grant award through ADECA FY20 Alabama State Energy Program Grant Program.

 

     SECTION 2: Council approves budget amendment as follows:   400-1020-4100 (ADECA -Energy Grant Revenue) by $40,000 and 400-1020-5101 (Municipal Stage Lighting Expenses) by $60,000.

 

     SECTION 3: Authorizes Municipal Complex to proceed with project and go to bid for lighting upgrades.

 

     SECTION 4: Council authorizes Mayor, Clerk, and other City officials to sign contracts and other documents required to proceed with this project.

 

     SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
