Currently, there is $120,000 in the capital budget; however, WAS Design's estimate is below the $100,000 threshold. Engineering is requesting to transfer the funds from the Capital Project to an Operational Account as well as request permission to solicit bids and award the bid if it's within the operational budget threshold. Engineering believes the City will receive more interest from contractors if the City chooses the traditional advertisement and bid route.

Body

 

WHEREAS, Resolution 25-1368 approved WAS Design's professional services contract for the Cat Alley Entrance Project; and

 

WHEREAS, WAS Design completed the plans and specifications for the Cat Alley Project located along North Alston Street; and

 

WHEREAS, currently $120,000.00 is budgeted for the Main Street Cat Alley Ph 2 Capital Project; and

 

WHEREAS, WAS Design's estimate is below the threshold and is no long required to be a capital project; and

 

WHEREAS, Engineering is requesting to continue to request permission to solicit bids and award the bid if it's within the operational budget threshold

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

SECTION 1:     Approve the request to transfer funds from the Main Street Cat Alley Ph 2 Capital Project to operation account #100-3020-6020; and

 

SECTION 2:     Approve the request to solicit bids and award the bid if within the operational budget threshold.

 

SECTION 3:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
