There is a need to re-evaluate the Non-Certified Magistrate position due to higher skill level duties and to restructure the other two existing magistate positions to create a three level magistrate position tier structure within the Municipal Court department.  The Non-Certified Magistrate job has been re-evaluated by the Archer company and has been re-classified from a Grade 6 to a Grade 9, assigned a new job title of Magistrate I, Non-Exempt, Job Code #2409. No budget adjustment is necessary in support of this action.

     WHEREAS, There is a need to re-evaluate the Non-Certified Magistrate position due to higher skill level duties and to restructure the other two existing magistate positions to create a three level magistrate position tier structure within the Municipal Court department.  The Non-Certified Magistrate job has been re-evaluated by the Archer company and has been re-classified from a Grade 6 to a Grade 9, assigned a new job title of Magistrate I, Non-Exempt, Job Code #2409. No budget adjustment is necessary in support of this action.

                     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

                     SECTION 1:                     The Pay Classification Plan is hereby amended to retitle the Non-Certified Magistrate to a Magistrate I and to adjust it from a Grade 6 to a Grade 9, Non-Exempt, Job Code #2905.

                     SECTION 2:                     The Pay Classificiation Plan is hereby amended to retitle the Assistant Magistrate position (Job Code #2903) to Magistrate II. No other changes are being made to this position.

                     SECTION 3:                      The Pay Classification Plan is hereby amended to retitle the Magistrate position (Job Code #2902) to Magistrate III. No other changes are being made to this position.

                     SECTION 4:                     No Budget adjustment is necessary or being requested.

                     SECTION 5:                     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
