Resolution 24-1431 approved the purchase of lighting for downtown business owners. We are working with Foley Mainstreet for the next phase of downtown business owners to have lighting on their buildings. This project is planned but it is no longer considered capital so the funding needs to be appropriated to the general fund operations.

WHEREAS, Foley Mainstreet is working with the local businesses to improve our downtown area and create a more inviting venue; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 24-1431 approved the purchase of lighting for the downtown business owners; and
WHEREAS, we request to purchase lighting for the business owners to install on the roofs of their buildings with the cost to install the lighting being the business owners responsibility.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approve the purchase of lighting from Mathis of Alabama and appropriate $27,000.00 under Account No #100-3020-6012.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
