There is a need to create two (2) Patrol Officer positions (Grade 150/Job Code #2010118) for approximately six (6) months while waiting for promotions to take place to fill current vacancies within the Police Department. These two (2) positions will be deleted from the (PCP) once the internal promotions have taken place. There is also a need to convert the Corporal/Detective position (Grade 180/Job Code #2010122) to a Narcotics Sergeant position (Grade 200/Job Code #2010139) to better manage PD operations and labor force. No additional budget funds are necessary for this action due to available funding as a result of the current vacancies.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

SECTION 1: Authorizes amending the Pay Classification Plan to create two (2) Patrol Officer positions (Grade 150/Job Code #2010118) for approximately six (6) months while waiting for promotions to take place to fill current vacancies within the Police Department. These two (2) positions will be deleted from the (PCP) once the internal promotions have taken place, and

SECTION 2: Authorizes amending the Pay Classification Plan to convert the Corporal/Detective position (Grade 180/Job Code #2010122) to a Narcotics Sergeant position (Grade 200/Job Code #2010139) to better manage PD operations and labor force, and

SECTION 3: No additional budget funds are necessary for this action due to available funding as a result of the current vacancies, and

SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
