Summary
The Nature Parks Department requested permission to apply to ADECA's Recreational Trails Program Grant in order to build an elevated fully ADA accessible boardwalk with an observation deck at Wolf Creek Park under 25-1319-RES. The boardwalk will be roughly 115ft linear feet and the observation platform will be roughly 12 feet above ground level. The total project cost is $204,525.00 and the grant will cover $163,620 and the city would be responsible for $40,905. The Nature Parks Department requests permission to accept the grant and amend the budget as required. This was originally within the capital project plan, but was inadvertently removed during the budgeting process.

WHEREAS, the Nature Parks Department requested permission to apply to ADECA's Recreational Trails Program Grant in order to build an elevated fully ADA accessible boardwalk with an observation deck at Wolf Creek Park under 25-1319-RES, and
WHEREAS, the boardwalk will be roughly 115ft linear feet and the observation platform will be roughly 12 feet above ground level, and
WHEREAS, the total project cost is $204,525.00 and the grant will cover $163,620 and the city would be responsible for $40,905, and
WHEREAS, the Nature Parks Department requests permission to accept the grant and amend the budget as required: $204,525.00 in 400-5090-5122 Bird Observation Tower - Wolf Creek and $163,620 in 400-5090-4207 TRP Grant - Bird Observation Tower.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the ADECA's Recreational Trails Program Grant of $204,525.00 and will provide $40,905 in matching funds as required by the grant.
SECTION 2: Council authorizes Mayor and other City officials to sign the grant agreement and other documents required to submit the grant application.
SECTION 3: Amends the FY27 budget as required: $204,525.00 in 400-5090-5122 Bird Observation Tower - Wolf Creek and $163,620 in 400-5090-4207 TRP Grant - Bird Observation Tower.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
