Request approval to go to bid on a custom fire pumper for FFD.
Summary
I am requesting approval to go to bid on a custom fire pumper as part of our scheduled apparatus replacement plan. We have scheduled this replacement for the FY16 budget year and included it in the capital requests for FY16. With most custom fire apparatus manufacturers on a 320 - 365 day delivery time, it is critical to be able to award a bid and complete the ordering process as soon as possible in the new budget year. This new pumper will enable us to move our 1999 KME custom pumper into reserve status and sell our 2002 E-One commercial chasis pumper.

WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department has planned for purchasing a new custom fire pumper in the FY16 budget year as a scheduled purchase in its apparatus replacement plan, and
WHEREAS, the purchase is included in the capital requests as part of the FY16 Budget, and
WHEREAS, most custom fire apparatus manufacturers are currently on a 320 - 365 day delivery schedule making the timing of a bid award and order critical at the beginning of the budget year.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves going to bid on a custom fire pumper for the Foley Fire Department.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
