The City of Foley Nature Parks Department requests to memorialize the project submission requested through the Alabama Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act Program (GOMESA). GOMESA has awarded the City of Foley $5,000,000 in order to expand the Foley Nature Parks (Phase 3). $5M will be spent on land acquisition. WHEREAS, The City of Foley Nature Parks Department requests to memorialize the project submission request through the Alabama Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act Program (GOMESA), and
WHEREAS, GOMESA has awarded the City of Foley $5,000,000 in order to expand the Foley Nature Parks (Phase 3), and
WHEREAS, $5M will be spent on land acquisition, and
WHEREAS, the City of Foley Nature Parks Department requests to accept the award, begin the project, and amends the following accounts in the FY24 budget: 400-5090-4203 GOMESA- Grant - Revenue account by $5,000,000 and 400-5090-5108 GOMESA - Land, Connectivity, Impv Expense account by $5,000,000, and
WHEREAS, the project number will be R58 Land 3.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Memorializes the project submission and accepts the $5,000,000 award from GOMESA for Foley Nature Parks Expansion.
SECTION 2: Approves to begin the capital project and the following accounts to be amended in the FY24 budget accordingly: 400-5090-4203 GOMESA- Grant - Revenue account by $5,000,000 and 400-5090-5108 GOMESA - Land, Connectivity, Impv Expense account by $5,000,000.
SECTION 3: Authorizes the Mayor, Clerk, and other City officials to sign the grant agreements, contracts and other documentation as required.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
