     WHEREAS, during Hurricane Sally, the Fire Department was utilizing its 2007 Ford F250, VIN 1FTSW21P37EB21620, for high water rescue.  The vehicle was flooded and was declared to be totaled by VFIS, the Fire Department's insurance carrier.  VFIS has offered a settlement in the amount of $40,000 for this vehicle.  The vehicle will be taken into possession by VFIS.

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

     SECTION 1:     Declares the 2007 Ford F250, VIN 1FTSW21P37EB21620, surplus and accepts VFIS settlement in the amount of $40,000.

     SECTION 2:     Approves going to bid for a replacement vehicle and also approves the purchase of emergency equipment for the new vehicle, not to exceed $40,000 utilizing account number 100-9200-6996. 

     SECTION 3:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
