A Resolution Waiving Fees for the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation's Use of Heritage Park and Pavilion for the Walk This Way 80's 5K Fundraiser Event and After Party.

Rachel Spears and the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation (SBCF) has requested the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion at no charge on Saturday, September 12, 2026 10:00am - 10:00pm for the for Walk This Way 80's 5K Fundraiser Event and After Party. They will set up for the event on Saturday, September 12th from 10am - 3pm. They will have the event Saturday, September 12th from 5pm - 10pm. The race will begin on Violet Ave and they will utilize city sidewalks and the Rose Trail. Following the 5K, the after-party will feature live music,and food trucks inside Heritage Park. To ensure runner safety, the SBCF is requesting temporary road closures and traffic support from the City of Foley. They are also requesting the City of Foley to provide waste receptacles throughout the event footprint and manage post-event trash removal. This will be a designated BYOB - Bring Your Own Beverage event. They will contract off duty Foley Police Officers for the after party event.

Whereas, Rachel Spears and the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation has requested the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion at no charge on Saturday, September 12, 2026 10:00am - 10:00pm for the for Walk This Way 80's 5K Fundraiser Event and After Party, and
Whereas, the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation will set up for the event on Saturday, September 12th from 10am - 3pm. They will have the event Saturday, September 12th from 5pm - 10pm, and
Whereas, to ensure runner safety, the SBCF is requesting temporary road closures and traffic support from the City of Foley, and
Whereas, the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation will provide live music and food trucks inside the Heritage Park Gazebo area, and
Whereas, the after party will be a designated BYOB - Bring Your Own Beverage event therefore they will contract off duty Foley Police Officers for the after party, and
Whereas, the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation are also requesting the City of Foley to provide waste receptacles throughout the event footprint and manage post-event trash removal.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama , as follows:
Section 1: Approves waiving the fees for the use of Heritage Park and Pavilion requested by Rachel Spears and the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation (SBCF) on Saturday, September 12, 2026 10:00am - 10:00pm for the for Walk This Way 80's 5K Fundraiser Event and After Party.
Section 2: Approves the temporary road closures and traffic support from the City of Foley.
Section 3: Approves the request for this to be a designated BYOB - Bring Your Own Beverage event and off duty Foley Police Officers will be contracted for the after party event.
Section 4: Approves the request for assistance from the City of Foley to provide waste receptacles throughout the event footprint and manage post-event trash removal.
Section 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
