A Resolution Approving the Purchase of a Truck for the Sports Tourism Department
Summary
The Sports Tourism Department has budgeted $45,000 in the FY24 capital purchase budget for a full sized pickup truck. In FY22, a resolution was approved to go to bid and purchase 3 electric trucks with one for CDD and two for Public Works. Moyer Ford was awarded these purchases and one EV truck was delivered in FY22 for the CDD. The delivery status was unknown for the remaining two trucks. The City of Foley received a notice on February 21, 2024, that the other two EV trucks have been delivered to Moyer Ford. As Public Works no longer has a need for two trucks, the Sports Tourism Department wishes to purchase the remaining truck.

WHEREAS, the Sports Tourism Department wishes to move forward with the purchase of an electric truck, and
WHEREAS, Moyer Ford was awarded three trucks in 2022, however, Public Works no longer has a need for two trucks, and
WHEREAS, the Sports Tourism Department has a capital purchase is included in the current year budget for $45,000 under account 100-5040-5100.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Sports Tourism Department to move forward with the purchase of a electric truck from Moyer Ford for $41,815.99.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
