A Resolution Approving the Purchase of an Electric Truck for the Public Works Department
Summary
The Public Works Department has budgeted $43,000 in the FY24 capital purchase budget for an electric truck. In FY22, a resolution was approved to go to bid and purchase 3 electric trucks with one for CDD and two for Public Works. Moyer Ford was awarded these purchases and one EV truck was delivered in FY22 for the CDD. The delivery status was unknown for the remaining two trucks. The City of Foley received a notice on February 21, 2024, that the other two EV trucks have been delivered to Moyer Ford. Public Works no longer has a need for two trucks, and wishes to move forward with the purchase of one of the available trucks.

WHEREAS, the Public Works Department wishes to move forward with the purchase of an electric truck, and
WHEREAS, Moyer Ford was awarded three trucks in 2022, however, Public Works no longer has a need for two trucks, and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has carried over this capital purchase to the current year budget for $43,000 under account 100-1060-5100.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Public Works Department to move forward with the purchase of a electric truck from Moyer Ford for $41,815.99.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
