In an effort to better serve our citizens, while reducing our environmental footprint, the Public Works Department and the Commercial Sanitation Department (4012) are requesting to solicit bids for and purchase electric vehicles. These are additions and were budgeted in FY22. Public Works budgeted $43,000.00 under Account# 100-1060-5100 for an "Electric Truck." Sanitation Commercial (4012) budgeted $43,000.00 for an "Electric Truck (Supervisor)" which will be under Account# 601-1951 and is budgeted to be financed with other Commercial Sanitation startup equipment. Total of the two is $86,000.00.

     WHEREAS, The Public Works and the Commercial Sanitation (4012) are requesting to solicit bids for and purchase electric vehicles, AND

     WHEREAS, The electric vehicles will be additions to their fleet and were budgeted in FY22, AND

     WHEREAS, Public Works budgeted $43,000.00 under Account# 100-1060-5100 for an "Electric Truck," AND

     WHEREAS, Sanitation Commercial (4012) budgeted $43,000.00 for an "Electric Truck (Supervisor)" which will be under Account# 601-1951,

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

     SECTION 1:     Approves going to bid for two new electric vehicles since both were budgeted in FY22 and will be additions to the fleet.

     SECTION 2:     Approves the purchase of two new electric vehicles for a total cost of $86,000.00 - one for Public Works in the amount of $43,000.00 under Account# 100-1060-5100; and one for Sanitation Commercial (4012) in the amount of $43,000.00 under Account# 601-1951 that is budgeted to be financed with other Commercial Sanitation startup capital equipment.

     SECTION 3:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
