Bids for the Mel Roberts Park Pavilion project were originally opened on November 19th, 2020 with one bidder coming in over budget. All bids were rejected. The project was rebid and those bids were opened on January 28, 2021. There were two bidders EJ Builders and Anchor Engineering. Both bids were over the $100,000 originally budgeted for this project. WHEREAS, bids for the Mel Roberts Park Pavilion project were originally opened on November 19th, 2020 with one bidder coming in over budget and all bids were rejected, and
WHEREAS, the project was rebid and those bids were opened on January 28, 2021, and
WHEREAS, there were two bidders EJ Builders ($162,786) and Anchor Engineering ($203,650) with both bids over the $100,000 originally budgeted for this project, and
WHEREAS, engineering is recommending to Council to move forward with the pavilion project by awarding the bid to EJ Builders, and
WHEREAS, if Council approves the action, an $85,000 budget increase is required.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Council approves the EJ Builders proposal of $162,786.00 for the Mel Roberts Park Pavilion Project.
SECTION 2: Council approved $85,000 budget increase to GL account 400-5010-5100.
SECTION 3: Council authorizes Mayor and other City officials to sign the contracts and other documents required to proceed with the project.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
