Title

A Resolution Approving the Purchase of two Floodwater Rescue Boats & Other Rescue Equipment for the Foley Fire Department

Summary

Description of Topic: (who, what, where, when, why and how much)

I am requesting approval to purchase a floodwater rescue boat for quick deployment in flood conditions, a light portable jon boat and outboard motor, and additional water rescue equipment to be used in floodwater rescues.  This is a $30,000 planned purchase in the General Fund Capital Purchases account.  We have located a boat, motor, and trailer package that is available for delivery at Southern Mud Sports in Opelika, AL at cost of $14,925.  The jon boat and motor as well as the additional rescue equipment does not meet the capital threshold so I am requesting to transfer $6,000 of the Capital Purchase budget to our Rescue Equipment account.
