WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and
WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission has recently developed an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, and
WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Appoints David Vosloh to a four year term on the Public Athletic and Sports Facilities Cooperative District and Public Cultural and Entertainment Facilities Cooperative District beginning on November 6, 2017 and ending on November 7, 2021 to fill the vacancy left by Keith Newton, who wishes to not be reappointed based on the conditions that he/she submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.
SECTION 2: Reappoints Floyd A. Davis to a four year term on the Public Athletic and Sports Facilities Cooperative District and Public Cultural and Entertainment Facilities Cooperative District beginning on November 6, 2017 and ending on November 7, 2021 based on the conditions that he submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.
SECTION 3: Reappoints John Koniar to a four year term on the Public Athletic and Sports Facilities Cooperative District and Public Cultural and Entertainment Facilities Cooperative District beginning on November 6, 2017 and ending on November 7, 2021 based on the conditions that he submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.
SECTION 4: Reappoints Charles J. Ebert, III. to a four year term on the Public Athletic and Sports Facilities Cooperative District and Public Cultural and Entertainment Facilities Cooperative District beginning on November 6, 2017 and ending on November 7, 2021 based on the conditions that he submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
