Darrell Russell, Public Works Superintendent, requests permission to purchase a 2018 John Deere 310SL Backhoe from Beard Equipment Co. for $105,960.00 through NJPA contract # 032515 JDC. It is budgeted for $110,000.00 under Acct# 01-607-7010. This is a replacement for the 1999 Komatsu Loader with 7K hours on it. The new Backhoe would greatly increase our ability properly handle new constructions and maintain/make repair existing City's streets/ditches/right-of-ways.

WHEREAS, A new 2018 John Deere 310SL Backhoe would replace our current 1999 Komatsu Loader with 7K hours on it and would greatly increase the Street Department's ability to properly handle new construction and maintain/repair existing City's streets/ditches/right-of-ways, and
WHEREAS, a new Backhoe is budgeted for $110,000.00 under Acct# 01-607-7010.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the purchase of a new 2018 John Deere 310SL Backhoe from Beard Equipment through NJPA contract # 032515 JDC for $105,960.00 that is budgeted for $110,000.00 under Acct# 01-607-7010
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
