Street Department planned $1M in FY24 for Sidewalk Improvements throughout the City and requests to approve North Cedar Street Sidewalk Project from North Cedar Street to West Peachtree Avenue to be the second sidewalk project of FY24. Engineering received professional services agreement for the North Cedar Street Sidewalk Project from Engineering Designs Group in the amount of $10,000 for survey and design. This project will provide needed connectivity for North Foley and the Mel Roberts Park. Street Department will return to council at a future time to request permission to solicit bids and construction funding.

WHEREAS, Street Department is requesting approval of the North Cedar Street Sidewalk Project from North Cedar Street to West Peachtree Avenue, and
WHEREAS, Engineering requested a professional services proposal for the North Cedar Street Sidewalk Project from North Cedar Street to West Peachtree Avenue, and
WHEREAS, Engineering has received a proposal from Engineering Design Group for survey and design services in the amount of $10,000.00, and
WHEREAS, Street Department is requesting to appropriate $10,000 for these services.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the North Cedar Street Sidewalk Project from North Cedar Street to West Peachtree Avenue,
SECTION 2: Approves the professional services contract in the amount of $10,000.00 for Engineering Design Group.
SECTION 3: Appropriates $10,000.00 under Account # 400-3010-5101 A23 CP.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
